Lively Eastside vegan spot serves up seriously tasty alternatives to pork like "jackfruit," really good beers on tap and a comfy, neighborhood feel in a quirky little patch of Heliotrope just off Melrose.

Too many good things to eat. A nice range of sandwiches, salads, soups, and Mexican dishes--all vegan. They use tofu and this incredible jackfruit adaptation. I had the BBQ "pulled pork" jackfruit sandwich on a rustic roll I had read so much about. Damn. No wonder the cartoon piglet on the menu is smiling. Mighty damn good. Great vegan food and friendly service. My five year old loved the jackfruit based tacos and my non-vegan husband enjoyed the fries and burrito. Great portions of rice and beans!!
