Help us make it rightInfluenced by Germanic alpine cuisine, Prime Meats' menu pays tribute to the American artisan movement; featuring local and ...fresh ingredients, prepared simply and honestly. Prime Meats, Frankies Spuntino and Cafe Pedlar are all founded by Chefs Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli. Native New Yorkers, the Franks have known each other for decades and have strong opinions about what sort of...
[The Franks sampling some of their own olive oil]
Restaurateurs Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli head to Sicily in the latest installment of their Munchie's show, Being Frank. The focus of the trip is to check on the harvest and production of their signature neon green olive oil, but that's just the beginning of the adventures had by this hilarious duo. Other highlights include antipasti...
The "name says it" about this carnivore-oriented Frankies Spuntino spin-off in Carroll Gardens, where "delicious", "German-inspired" American steakhouse fare arrives via a "whiskered", "über-hip" staff; the "cool, Prohibition-style" digs get "packed" and it "doesn't take reservations", so "arrive early."
Frankie Falcinelli and Frankie Castronovo, owners of Frankies 457 Spuntino, expanded their Court Street empire in March 2009 by opening Prime Meats a few doors down from their flagship restaurant. The old-timey decor of tin ceilings, battered mirrors, and Edison bulbs has a similar aesthetic to the Frankies' other Italian restaurants (they own Frankies 17 in Manhattan as well), but the locavore...
The Frankie's Spuntino guys made their name with Italian-American restaurants, but this effort, a German-American style steakhouse, may be even better. Stark and unadorned, with a great cured meat program and big, delicious steaks, it also boasts a small specialty grocery on the side.
A confusing but delicious addition to Carroll Gardens from the prodigious Franks (Castronovo and Falcinelli) behind the massively successful Frankies Spuntino, featuring Prohibition-style cocktails and decor, alongside a hefty menu of meat-based items.
Prime Meats is located in an interesting space. Food is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Note: make sure you tell server if you don't want to eat undercooked meat.
Had a lovely meal at Prime Meats and to top it all we were the only two guests in the dining room fabulous. The food was great and plenty of it. The lemon pie was gorgeous. Would highly recommend this little gem in Brooklyn.
Took my hubby and son for Brunch here- a nice Father's Day brunch. Warmly greeted, seated right away (we did have reservations). Nice decor, our table was right in the middle of the rotunda - nice an airy. The food portions were ok. The sides...
I was disappointed with the food the last time I dined at Prime. It used to be an excellent place to eat , but the quality has tailed of considerably.
My wife and I stopped by for drinks and a small bite before dinner at another venue. We got to sit outside by 7pm or so. We overheard mgt stating they had staffing issues etc....
Our server was great, though we only ordered 2 rounds of...
Prime Meats was founded in 2008, and is located at 465 Court St in Brooklyn. It employs 2 employees and is generating approximately $120,000.00 in annual revenue.
Steakhouses: Created by resturantuers Frank Falcinelli and Frank Castronovo (the Frankies) Prime Meats is ushering in a new era in steakhouses in New York and doing it well. Borrowing from legacies Keen's and Peter Luger but also adding their own aesthetic, this purveyor of "German Alpine Cuisine" has mixed up a unique cocktail of style and deliciousness. Large windows and a spacious back deck...
Prime Meats is a farm to table restaurant created in the spirit of the inns and dining rooms found in New York at the turn of the century.

The cocktail bar and restaurant extension of the Frankies empire is a notch up in relaxed, old-timey romantic ambiance (more candles, darker wood) but maintains the same friendly and excellent service. Stand at the bar or take a seat at one of the cozy, woodsy tables and booths, and order from a menu of strong and classic cocktails served in vintage glasses, like the...
Prime Meats on Court Street is an elegant restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. It uses local, fresh ingredients for German-American-theme dishes. The restaurant and bar are clean and cozy with heavy wood tables and decorative lighting. Employees are dressed in turn-of-the-century suspenders and button downs. Prime Meats offers both private booths and outdoor seating (weather...

Fun Fact: The meat is sold incrementally--one chop (or ounce) at a time.
What to Drink: The cocktails are great, but look out for the brandy and prosecco punch.
Know Before You Go: Like Frankie's, Prime Meats will be cash only.
