I have entrusted my pets to Pomona Animal Hospital, for many years now and have nothing but wonderful things to say about them and most specifically, Dr. Christopher Puzio. He is a terrific diagnostician and has always provided me with the utmost professional and expert information to base decisions and treatment modalities for my pets. I am a nurse, so I know and understand what concerns should be prioritized and addressed in many situations that may arise and I have found Dr. Puzio to always be right on target with his diagnoses, treatment options and most of all his compassion and concern for the animals and the family...I would like to take this Holiday Season to reflect upon all the years of professional care and service and thank you, Dr. Christopher Puzio and your staff at Rockland Veterinary, for all you continue to do for us and our beloved creatures!!!
I've been a client of Pomona Animal Hospital for years. They have cared for my three dogs through all illnesses and old age. Dr. Puzio is a very knowledgable, caring vet who extended my dogs' lives, keeping them healthy and comfortable through old age. Everyone is so kind and helpful

I first saw Dr. Bridget Puzio at Hudson Valley Animal Hospital,She is listed, however, at Pomona, so I will include my views here.
Dr Puzio committed an extreme error in not disclosing to me that my cat was given a highly toxic pain killer called Metacam . Also Puzio did not follow the manufacturer's protocol to not use Metacam if the animal had kidney impairment. In addition the cat was given oral Metacam. This is off-label and is not recommemded by the manufacturer.
Later my cat was given a second injection of Metacam by another vet, Derek A. Gadino, at Hudson Valley. Again I was not told of Metacam's usage nor told of need for a blood test and exam before the second dose. That injection was contraindicated by the drug manufacturer; additionally the lack of blood test specifically contradicted FDA and Metacam labeling.
Giving Metacam to cats is often risky with high rates of kidney and liver failure. And to not follow protocols is even riskier.
Two weeks after receiving the second injection my cat started to get sick and six weeks later he was dead.
Rockland Veterinary , Hudson Valley Animal Hospital, and Bridget Puzio are not recommended by this grieving pet lover (Edited February 24, 2009)
My pets have been with Dr. Bridget and Christopher Puzio for almost 5 years. They have brought my pets back to life. Zoe, was a rescue from a puppy mill that was barely breathing. They nursed her back to health and today she is a thriving malti poo, full of energy and life. Oliver, another rescue, had a severe skin infection. Again, The Puzio's treated him and today he is a lovely yorkie...
I have had three dogs, all treated at Pomona Animal Hospital. Dr. Puzio is a caring and very knowledgable professional who has taken care of my dogs for many years. As they aged, Dr. Puzio adjusted their care to extend their lives and keep them as comfortable as possible. He is very compassionate and helped us through losing them. I would recommend this veterinary practice.
