Pimai Restaurant

good local thai

Review Rating
Parking can be a little cramped out front, and there's no alcohol, which is odd considering the rest of the places on Franklin. (And equally okay considering the rest of the places on Franklin!) You can also bring your own beer/wine. Fantastic selection of fairly generic Thai, where each dish tastes unique. 'Spicy' yields a good spiciness factor. A little strange: we had ordered a brown fried rice dish that ended up on our table smelling/tasting burnt. When we told our server, her first reply was "That's how it's supposed to be" and when we insisted, she removed it and came back saying that it was the egg which had burned. They brought out another dish of it which was quite good. Good pad thai and really good red curry. Up your healthfulness with brown rice and enjoy the quiet atmosphere.

Having been on several occasions we can recommend Pimai. This restaurant is very relaxing, the décor adds to it with candles and running water for good Feng Shui.
The prices do vary from average on upwards, the food dose not, it has always been delicious and fresh. The staff are friendly & attentive. They have plenty of easy parking out front.

Pros

+ Wine and real cold Beer

Amusingly enough, we order from here at least once a month, but have never been to the restaurant itself. Regardless, their delivery service is lightning quick, and compared to other Thai places, the food seems fresher, healthier somehow. We are in love with the duck curry, can't go without it!

All things delicious and inexpensive

Everything I have had at Pimai was excellent. The Tom Kai Gai is one of the best I have had stateside - it is wonderfully spicy (so be mindful if you aren't into the spice). The atmosphere is cute and chic and the service attentive. Great casual date spot.

Pros

+ Yummy spicy food, service, atmosphere

Cons

- The TV over the bar is a weird choice
