The Phoenix is, to this day, where touring rockers touch down in SF. It's definitely a party hotel, although staff is known to roust unrulies...but that's to be expected; some people are actually trying to sleep.

I went to San Francisco for the first time last year. Me and a friend booked a room and drove in from L.A. and arrived in S.F. around 4 am. When we arrived tired and ready to sleep after a few hours of driving. We were not able to get into the front door of the hotel we booked a room at. This is my first time visiting california and this hotel made my stay a great experience. Helpful staff and friendly too. My husband made a great choice. We will leave to enjoy the outdoors and come back to a room that is refreshed as if it was never touched
