This is one of my favorite places in Houston. There are so many delicious, reasonably-priced, gourmet finds at Phoenicia. Their dry herbs and spices are reasonably priced too. Friendly staff. Very helpful.
After shopping at the store one day last year and were waiting at the check out counter with my husband, I saw something run really fast from one place to another. It looked like a mouse, but I was not 100% sure. As regular customers, we were there again last month with my husband and this time he saw the mouse run over around the olive section.
As I was a regular customer, I had bought cheese last month that had an expiration date of 12/08/08 from Phoenicia Specialty Foods. I bought it thinking that I have time to use it before the expiration date. But, I was disappointed to see that the cheese which I kept in the refrigerator the whole time started to rotten. Therefore, I will never go to this store again.
