Family (Greek) owned and operated since 1912. The Original Phillip's coney in Columbus. Signature dish is the coney and it is as addicting as White Castle. Also try the fried bologna, Phillip's Combination, fish, onion rings and fries...Family recipe chili is different and very tasty. A must try. Good ol' American diner food. Affordable, fast and family friendly. Consistently good.

The claim to fame is that the sauce is a secret family recipe. It certainly tastes good. Bean soup that is hot and good is a feature. The coneys come several ways and are delicious.
Deserts are decent - they come from Der Dutchman in Plain City. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Their bottle-neck fries are also good.

Located on Broad St near downtown Columbus. Ample parking. Looks like a diner, complete with portraits of previous generations of owners. You would expect that after nearly 100 years you could perfect the recipe for chili dogs. You would be right. There probably isn't a less healthy, better tasting meal than a coney dog and chili cheese fries and this place does it perfectly. An historic eatery... more
