One of the few lesbian bars in town, Phase One has been open on Capitol Hill for years. You will often find regulars playing pool in this relaxed and friendly place. At night and on weekends, the amiable bar scene often gives way to a party atmosphere, when the occasional live band takes over.

"Ground zero for the lesbian community", this since-1970 Capitol Hill "dive" is "one of the oldest queer-lady bars in DC", keeping patrons "engaged and entertained" with a "variety" of music performances, "a drag king troupe" and Jell-O wrestling; sure, it "might not be the classiest joint" lookswise, but the "small", hopping dance floor and "cheap beer" help make it a "classic."

the phase is great! it has different segments so you can do what you wanna do and not be bumping into to people. the dance floor is a little small but it's kinda cute that way. the only downside...

Was my friends and I's first time going and we had a blast it's a bit small but that's totally okay we enjoyed ourselves and the crowd is just so much fun. Pool table play time long list lol
