Throw on some flip flops, order a beer, and soak up the sun on the upper deck of this legendary Mission Beach spot.

In Short
This double-decker neighborhood sports bar enjoys a prime location between the beach and the bay. Catering to a slightly older crowd than the typical PB destination, the bar...

I do love the pennant, but it's all about the experience. I love my usual bartenders, but I hate being over charged by some of the regular bartenders, it definitely spoils my mood. Everyone else here is a trip, some interesting characters for sure, and the rooftop is the best part. Don't bother hanging out here on Thursday nights, the aggressive USD kids definitely take it over to the max.

They hosted an event for me last weekend. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the view. Been a USD local for years now and Pennant is a staple!

This place takes dive a little too far. It's dirty and run down. For what it is, drinks are overpriced and the staff think they're way cooler than they are. Beachcomber next door is a better spot. wouldn't touch food from this place

Great time watching the Giants game when they clinched against Cincinnati. They put all the TV's in the place on the game for me, and even though mostly Padre rooters, the peeps in the bar early in the day helped me root the G-men on to victory. Thanks Pennant I will be back!

Wandered down to the Pennant for a late afternoon cocktail after spending the afternoon on Mission Beach. Went upstairs and saw the beautiful sunset and enjoyed a drink with my hubby!

Business description (3)

The Pennant is located at 2893 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA. This location is in the Mission Beach neighborhood. This business specializes in Bars, Pubs, & Clubs and has 1 review(s) with a star rating of 5.0.

This super-relaxed beach bar without matching bar stools. This place keeps to kitchen cooking starting at 5pm and even serves breakfast on the weekends. They have pool tables, a pinball machine and a juke box. They also offer an outdoor patio for sun-soakers.

At this super-mellow beach bar you'll still get the same great service locals have been enjoying since 1962. Owner Dick Kovalcheck describes the Pennant's decor as consisting of "various types of bar stools, few of them matching." In season, this casual hang-out is open from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. (During the cruel San Diego winters, Kovalcheck shutters his doors until 11 a.m.) The full menu here...
