I've never sat down here for coffee but I am a regular of buying whole beans to bring home. I've always had very very friendly service (often the same fellow who is professional and friendly) and when I get my pound to go I also get a cup of whatever is brewing to wet my whistle. Hands down the best coffee. I am a truly addicted Peet's fan and will continue to be.

Whenever I am in Boston and am missing the San Francisco Bay Area too much, I go to Peets. This Berkeley coffee institution is what Starbucks was modeled after. The owners were San Francisco Bay area residents who moved to Seattle and modeled it after Peet's and the rest is history.
