Help us make it rightThe Peacock is one of Austin's gems. Where else can you sip on a vintage cocktail while enjoying a glamorous Hollywood-style decor? Visit The Peacock at 515 Pedernales Street and you can experience a divine evening of taste and elegance, without compromising fun.
Day has turned into night and the party at the Pedernales Lofts has run out of beer. Whooptie-do. You're in need of a drinkie-drink anyway. Across the street is a lounge where liquor is poured, not measured. Random chandeliers give insight into the retro combo of white leather chairs, turquoise walls, and Silver Lake wannabes getting nosy in the dark. The jukebox is so stacked, your selections...

In ShortWalking into this petite bar for the first time can really set someone back. Designed by the now-famous Joel Mozersky, (creator of Oslo, Uchi and the Real World Austin house) the teal and white-encrusted space with matching tchotchkes resembles its namesake. Young urban professionals, hip artists and other in-the-know folk settle in with creatively titled specialty cocktails--a...
my roommates and i absolutely LOVE this bar! the decor is beautiful, the drinks are absolutely delicious, and the dj always happens to have the perfect playlist going. the bartenders are always so friendly and attentive and the crowd this place draws is just as fun. if you're looking to get away from the over-the-top craziness of 6th street and the pretentious snobs on 4th, this is definitely the place to go!
Friday nights are a lot of fun if you like indie rock, 80's, dance and electro. The crowd changes each time I go. They have 2 girl djs who are really friendly. You can't smoke inside or take your drink with you outside. The drink prices are a little high, but decent. Good music.
Pros
+ parking, good music, nice djs, classy bar
Cons
- service, no smoking area, sound system, dance floor

The Peacock is the physical embodiment of all that is wrong with Austin hipster culture. I came here for a friends' 21st birthday (why you would choose this place for a night of fun is beyond me), and was sorely disappointed. First of all, the place is incredibly tiny, with not nearly enough seating. Everyone in the bar looked like they would rather be somwhere else: scenesters there to be seen and see others. The problem with these places is they are staffed by hipsters who have no respect for the bartending profession and thus are severely lacking in service and knowledge: There were...
Swanky, sexy, and off the beaten path, The Peacock is a posh LA-style bar with an Austin twist. This watering hole gives guests the royal treatment with an extra-large parking lot, an inconspicuous interior, customized DJ sounds nightly, and martinis mixed with extra love and attention. A happy hour cocktail at The Peacock is a perfect way to start an evening.
Reserve a spot for the lounge's Cuisine de Cocktail, a chef-prepared five-course meal paired with five specialty cocktails, hosted on the second Tuesday of each month.
If the interior is too loud, relocate to the cozy concrete patio out back.
