There's no more elegant place in Memphis for a drink, but be sure you drop in well after the crowds who've gathered to watch the Peabody ducks do their daily march have dispersed, usually shortly after 5pm. Piano music is featured in the evenings. If you were to have only one drink while in Memphis, it should be here.

It seems the Peabody is caught up in their own reputation and mystique. A two night stay of expected rest, was anything but restful. Our first room was very small and quite dusty. The shower wouldn't drain. We waited an hour for maintenance to clear it with a line, and were left with a dirty tub. The Peabody hotel definitely has the nicest accomodations I've stayed at while traveling. From the moment you walk in, you feel an excitement in the air. The Peabody is the premier hotel in Memphis! There is no where else that I would consider staying while visiting Memphis. The restaurants are very good and the location is superb.
