This is an old hotel with three floors of interesting displays. Some displays pertinent to St Joseph; Jesse James and Walter Cronkite's dad's dentist office.
Have gone to this museum many times. Lots of different and interesting artifacts and things to see. It's said that the upper floors of the building are haunted! Lots of history even quirky things to see.
If you are visiting st. Joseph this is a must see! It is not a museum it is a children's play house of yesteryear and make believe
They have a beautiful carosel, a real steam train, pony express stuff, Jesse James house, even a race car! Plan on spending some time and enjoying!!
We really enjoyed the Patee house. My daughter was so taken in by all the different artifacts. The indoor carousel was a huge hit with both of my kids. Be sure to check out Jesse James home while your there!!
If you are into museums this one is a must. Great displays of things related to the old west. Has an old steam locomotive on display. The corporate offices of the Pony express were located here. Could visit and enjoy several times.
