Panzano Enjoy Chef Elise Wiggins' contemporary Northern Italian cuisine in a spectacular urban setting with uncompromised service and wines. And this isn't an empty invitation. Panzano was winner of the "2004 Greatest Caesar Salad in Denver" competition and named one of Denver's top five restaurants by The Rocky Mountain News. We were also awarded four stars by 5280 Magazine, "Best Italian"... more

Hotel restaurants are generally good for two things -- drinking and smoking -- which, with any luck, will serve as a prelude to screwing. At Panzano, in the Hotel Monaco, you might not get lucky, but the bar is certainly conducive to whiling away a few hours over a good martini and apps.

The dining room is filled with fresh flowers and sided by windows that let in the natural light, and that makes this space within the Hotel Monaco cheerful and bright. Three meals a day are served, but it's lunch and dinner that focus on true Italian. Everything on the menu is multilayered, such as white asparagus salad with basil aïoli, watercress, and endive; or risotto made with caramelized... more

In Short While dark-wood accents and paintings summon a quiet elegance, the clank and sizzle from the open kitchen, piles of fresh-baked bread and animated conversations keep the room lively. Pasta highlights include the homemade ravioli steeped in cream sauce. Instead of settling on just one dessert, finish with the selezione de giorno--three or four small selections from the menu... more

The Hotel Monaco's resident eatery is one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Served in a densely decorated dining room with a busy open kitchen, the menu changes every 3 months, but you'll likely find the signature buridda , a Genovese seafood stew with mussels, calamari, and shrimp in a savory lobster broth; gamberi alla carbonara , shrimp fettuccine served with pancetta cream sauce... more

Panzano

As far as fine dining in Denver is concerned, Panzano is the best italian restaurant I have tried thus far. When dining at Panzano I request to sit at the Chef’s Counter, this is where the magic happens. Several cooks accompanied by the head chef prepare all of the food directly in front of you and if you are lucky, they just may give you a taste of a new menu item. The atmosphere is... more

We went for brunch a while back. It was not busy so it could have been the B team or the less experienced crew getting their feet wet on the floor. If that is the case, it is unfortunate that they had to practice on us because it left us with a negative experience to remember.
The menu was good- they had your typical brunch menu with an Italian twist. I think my eggs Benedict would have been... more

This place is top shelf. The appetizer, entree, dessert and wine were all outstanding. We sat at the bar for our appetizer and watched the chefs at work which was very entertaining. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special meal or a celebration.
