Palomino doesn't measure up to the reviews.
Our party of four had an 8:30 PM reservation for four on 12/31/07 and we were seated within a few minutes of our arrival. The staff was pleasant, efficient and helpful. In general, the food was tasty but, overall, lacked the sophistication one would expect from a restaurant in this price range. As an example, the Asiago-Almond Crusted Sea Scallops arrived at the table with the crust broken and in various stages of falling off of the scallops. The crust itself was soggy from the wet garnish on top and the abundance of sauce below. The sauce had leaked from the orzo and pooled to one end of the plate. The very thin asparagus spears served with the meal were overcooked and many were too stringy to be eaten. This was not an enjoyable dining experience. I won't return - there are better restaurants in the area.
