Conditions Keeping This From Being A Great Course

If you’re looking for a secluded golf course, it doesn’t get much more remote than Packsaddle Ridge GC. It’s a 10-minute drive from the nearest town out in the middle of nowhere alongside the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This course has the potential to be spectacular. The layout is challenging. Tight fairways and tough greens. Course shape was average. The views and elevation changes are spectacular. The bronze statues, tee monuments, stone bridges and covered bridge are the kinds of features you would find at a high end course. The initial construction cost of this course had to be huge. I play Packsaddle once or twice a year when I'm visiting family. It's a challenging course, tight in most places, no flat greens. A good score there is a great round.

This Course is challenging. The views and being located out in the country provides for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. The staff was friendly and attentive. It is my favorite course in the area.

My first time to the Harrisonburg area. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE BAG DROP as it is quite the hike up from the parking lot to the clubhouse. Course was built by a family construction business and it shows. If they'd spent as much time, effort and money on the course conditions as they did and the spectacular accoutrements (stone bridges and staircases, sculptures, covered bridge, etc.) it could be...
