Attached to the Oxford Hotel, this is an elegant hotel bar James Bond would love.

In Short With a name like Cruise Room, it makes sense that the decor here resembles that of an ocean liner: Red lights emanate from the walls while large, comfortable booths welcome the passengers. You'd expect to see James Bond at the bar sipping a Glenlivet and water, or maybe an extremely dry Ketel One martini. Instead you'll find hotel guests and locals, ranging from 20-somethings... more

Designed by the architect Frank Edbrooke, this is one of Denver's few hotels to have survived from the 19th century (another being the Brown Palace). The facade is simple red sandstone, but the interior boasts marble walls, stained-glass windows, frescoes, and silver chandeliers, all of which were restored between 1979 and 1983 using Edbrooke's original drawings. The hotel is listed on the... more

Finding herself out of the particular gin I was drinking the Bartender brazenly downpoured (substituted a cheaper liquor for the one I ordered) my gin martini in the hopes I wasn't watching. Forget ordering a drink not off their vodka soaked 'specialty cocktail' menu, an inquiry for an Americano is only met with blank stares from the staff. It's unfortunate, you really want to like this bar,... more

I love this place. With 20 years of bar hopping in Denver, this is one of my favorites. Perfect for meeting before you go out. Perfect place to end the night and a perfect place to meet some interesting people. If there is a bar in Denver where you have an opportunity to meet celebrities, this is it. Most bands stay at the Oxford, so they end up in the Cruise Room. Have Fun.

My wife and I stayed at the Oxford Hotel this December at it was a fantastic surprise. The hotel staff set the tone for our stay right from the start. Two gentlemen were already unloading our bags before I stepped out of the vehicle. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The room service staff was helpful and timely. The next morning, I found a large silver coffee dispenser in the... more
