Tips About This Business
Check out Origami from 5pm to 6:30pm and you can get a combo plate for less than seven bucks that includes chef's choice sashimi (that's the raw fish minus the wrap) and your choice of a salmon or yellowtail roll. As an added bonus, house wines are only three bucks, making Origami a great after-work stop for cheap sushi and drinks.
If you don't see what you like on the sushi menu, ask. The chefs will accommodate special requests.
The imported sake selection is impressive--experiment with types you've never tried before.
Editorial Reviews from the web
In Short Located in a 100-year-old building in downtown Minneapolis, Origami is the picture of Japanese simplicity: subdued colors, soft lighting, clean lines. The restaurant's feel is casually upscale--Levi's or Prada are equally welcome. This is a haven for the sushi-obsessed, and many diners seem to know each other. It's regarded as the best sushi in the Twin Cities, but there are...

Other Reviews from the web
I went to Origami with a group of friends. When we go there it was pretty slow but it got busier around 8pm. The sushi was very fresh and there were a lot of options and specialty rolls. Service was a bit slow when we wanted to order a few more rolls. Green tea ice cream was excellent but maybe too small of a portion. Overall, cool atmosphere, cool neighborhood, I would definitley go back....

Perhaps I set my standards a bit high because I've heard many wonderful things about Origami, but I would classify the sushi as average. Definitely tasty, but nothing to write home to Mom about. I much prefer Bagu in south Minneapolis.
I will give them props on the many interesting specialty choices. I had a tasty roll called NY, NY and the combination of green apple and shredded crab was...

The title easily describes what I feel about Origami. The problem is...sushi should not be strictly ok...it should be an experience, especially when its expensive. I really liked the decor of the establishment and the music choice playing in the background. Unfortunately the sushi was average, at best. The fish itself was not the freshest that I have ever had, and the rolls were a bit...
