Oregon Health Sciences University is an academic hospital which also has a Veterans hospital, Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Casey Eye Institute, emergency room, research and diagnostic labs and specialized care clinics. While medicine, dentistry and nursing courses are conducted in the university, its adjacent hospital and emergency room comes in handy during urgent situations.
