Curved floor-to-ceiling windows allow a full view of the Civic Opera House, and the luxurious space -- cherry trim, semicircular leather booths, stacked-limestone details, white tablecloths -- attracts a power-lunch crowd. The contemporary American fare of chef Grant Slauterbeck is well-balanced and beautifully presented. Starters might include shrimp "lollipops" -- shrimp and scallop ceviche... more

In Short Stone walls, black leather booths and mahogany accents make suits feel right at home and provide opera-goers a cozy place to dine. A cushy lounge... more

The slow service at this place prevents me from giving it more stars. Even when the restaurant is not that full I have always experienced long waits. Once the food actually arrives, all is well because it has always tasted good. I guess you just shouldn't come hungry or in a hurry.

Lunch is very crowded; but I have been there at least a dozen times and have always been happy with the food; and the service. I have been both seated at the bar, and at the restaurant - and have had good service, and the blue cheese burger was absolutely fantastic.

Pros

+ Food, Service, Ambience

Cons

- Crowded

Lunch -- not the entire afternoon!

Went for lunch yesterday but spent most of the afternoon due to absolutely awful service. Food was ok but if you plan on conversing with others at your table, it is just too loud.

Cons

- poor service, loud
