My opinions about Old Town are mixed. It's a nice enough store, the staff is great and they do sell brewing supplies. My problem with Old Town is the amount of old, spoiled beer on the shelves. It's as good a place as any to buy a cheap 12 pack, but I'm hesitant to buy anything decent there that isn't from a popular brewery. The Bells, New Belgium, Founders, Schlafly etc. should be fine, but...

I do believe this is Southern Illinois' one and ONLY brewing supply store. Mostly, this shop is a liquor store with a very small assortment of craft, with tons of BMC, wine and hard alcohol. The corner they have for homebrewing seems to be growing very slowly but the total area of the homebrewing supplies in this store is probably only about 12 square foot.

This place feels like it has been on the strip forever. Nice selection of drinks, mixers, magazines and lottery, this place will even cash your payroll paychecks for no cherge.
