Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum

Sacramento's first school welcomed students in August 1849 and closed permanently four months later. Five years passed before another public school opened. Today it's a kid-friendly attraction that shows what one-room schoolhouses were like in the California Central Valley and foothills in the late 1800s.

This is a great example of a one-room schoolhouse back in the day. The Docent did a great job of enlightening the group with the details of daily life.
