Reminiscent of perhaps the "Ol' Saloon" at Disneyland, this 'classic American bar and restaurant' features the BBQ, the burgers, the chili, steak and the beer of the good, ol' US of A. It is very popular due in part to the M Street location in Georgetown, but the draw may also come from some of the great live music that it books. Decor is unsurprisingly red, white and blue...only more rustic.

Raised wooden booths flank one side of the restaurant; an imposing, old-fashioned dark-wood bar with saddle-seat stools extends down the other. Recorded swing music during the day, more mainstream music into the night, plays in the background. Old Glory boasts the city's "largest selection of single-barrel and boutique bourbons" and a new rooftop deck with outdoor seating and views of Georgetown.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out a few nights ago and it was ok. I rated the food 3.5 stars because the lamb was wonderful! Nice and tender, with great flavor. However, everything else was mediocre and nothing to write home about. The ribs were on the tougher side and the mac and cheese was very bland.

Old Glory is a Georgetown institution to be sure, but the reason isn't always the food. It's a cool hangout for the bar crowd in a prime location, so it deserves to stay in business just for that. The BBQ is by no means bad, but sometimes you have to be careful what you order. Many of the sides aren't worthy of too much praise. The service can be lacking at times as well. I am from Texas and this is better than some places there! The food is great and atmosphere is just as you would imagine: very chill and country-ish. Has a rooftop bar and people are pretty friendly. I highly recommend. Best food around.
