good sushi place

This is our preferred sushi place in Burbank. There's ample parking nearby, the food is good and fresh, udon included, and the service is generally attentive. Waaaay better than the Kabuki-mart around the corner.

Octopus Japanese Restaurant....not only do they have the best sushi but their combo meals are great. My favorite are the raw oysters garnished with smelts eggs, since it is prepared upon order they may take a bit long but worth the wait. The combo meals are so big it can be shared by two people. We have tried three other Japanese restaurants near by but nothing compares to Octopus.

We showed up for dinner here after hearing some friends talk about how much they loved it. The sushi was fresh (not fishy tasting), and the portions were more than fair. It took a little while to place our order, and the staff seemed less than thrilled to be there, but overall, we had more food than we could finish for less money than we'd spend at most restaurants.

The food that I was served here was not near par. I was pretty disappointed. It is similar to the sushi place Kabuki, which is a franchise sushi restaurant owned by non-Japanese, so if you want something that is casual, quick eat, and just bargain, come. Their lunch menu was acceptable, but the sushi was all based on california roll and I could not pick up the sushi without using a spoon...rice literally ... more
