The Scene A traditional Irish bar is what you get here--plenty of wood furnishings, a long bar, on the quiet and dark side, with Guinness on tap. A long, narrow room with brick walls and an impressive back bar that dates back more than 100 years, O'Callaghan's draws journalists and others who work nearby. It's a mix of Irish flavor -- maps and pictures of famous Irish writers -- and a sports bar, featuring five TVs. Lunch is available until 4 p.m.; light menu until 3 a.m.

This is a no frills pub that's perfect for lunch or drinks after work. The burgers aren't too greasy, but full of taste and the service was attentive.

I love this place & make a point to visit each time I'm in Chicago. Superb service, friendly and fun patrons & staff, delicious Newcastle. I always meet interesting people, and usually end up staying until the wee hours of the morn. Great fun & highly recommended for those who like a more laid-back atmosphere.
