My wife and I went to the Oakwood Club 1/7/06. There was a 2 hourwat - we were happy to sit at the bar. Two ladies arrived 20 minutes after we did and sat at the bar. After 90 minutes, the ladies ( regulars / friends of the owner) were seated - we weren't. I paid my tab, expressed my dissatisfaction to the bartender and left. This establishment is typical of a place that forgot what made them good. They survive off their following, which is very good. Unfortunately their following and service are the only mentionables. The wait on the weekends is terrible. The cost of the food would be about right if it was as good as everyone says. The only items on the menu that rank are the prime rib and a few select...

We've been hearing about how overpriced and snooty the Oakwood Club is since we moved from Nebraska in October. I guess we should have evaluated the class of the sources before letting months go by before we tried it ourselves. The decor is rich and inviting, while maintaining a secluded feeling for diners.
