The Scene The Oakroom in the historic Seelbach Hotel is definitive in turn-of-the-century splendor. Brass chandeliers, ornate wood accents and jazzy background music create an atmosphere of refined dining, with heaps of Louisville charm. We had breakfast here and it was fabulous. The service was fantastic and food was wonderful. The prices are fair with the given area and location. I would highly recommend staying over at the Seelbach and having a beautiful breakfast.
As a +20 year Carlton Club member (the Ritz in Chicago), there are very few combination hotel/restaurants outside of NY, LA & Chicago, I would rate as highly as the Seelbach/Oakroom. Their service is impeccable; their chef provides a remarkable flair & consistent quality and their extensive wine list allows even the most discriminating for nothing short of a magnificent, magical dining...
