The restored Oak Bar is reminiscent of a British Officer's Club in the Orient. The same dark wood paneling and mirrors that flank the Oak Room are offset in the Oak Bar by smooth marble. Heraldry symbols decorate the ornately gilded and painted coffered ceiling. The furniture and decor create an inviting atmosphere to enjoy a relaxing drink or close a business deal.

In Short With its carved plaster ceiling, baroque Edwardian woodwork and deep-red draperies, the Oak Room is as gorgeous as it ever was. Diners may find themselves seated next to a youthful couple and their dressed-up, well-behaved kids out celebrating a birthday--or the same kids 20 years later applauding Mom and Dad's anniversary. The menu relies on perfectly grilled, massive slabs... more

The Scene An elegant decor of dark-wood paneling, 30-foot-high ceilings, lush red drapery and fleur-de-lis emblems await crowds of young to middle-aged professionals, both local and guests of the hotel. Evenings, the backdrop is dimly lit so sweethearts can huddle in cushy lounge chairs and settees, though a multi-platform layout makes everyone in the room visible. The... more

This paneled, high-ceilinged room feels like an old-fashioned men's club -- but one that welcomes women. The lighting is muted, the leather seating soft and welcoming, and the raw bar picture-perfect. There's live entertainment on weekends. Proper dress (no jeans, shorts, or sneakers) is required. Open Sunday through Thursday until midnight, Friday and Saturday until 1am.

Met up with friends here for my birthday and it was pretty much what we expected. Nice atmosphere - older crowd - great live music - overly priced beverages. As long as you know what you're in for, you'll have a good night here.

Great restaurant diminished by a poor opening at the bar.

When you want in, you are not in the restuarant, but instead are in the oak bar. It is where you wait, after checking in with the host. I went there for my birthday. In the bar, we waited about 29 minutes to get our drink, then were ignored for the rest of the 40 minutes we waited to be seated. We had arrived that early because we had heard such great things about the decor, that we though it... more

We went to the Oak Room for our office Christmas Party and I have to say that we were greatly disappointed!!! We were impressed with the decor but that was about it...the service and the food was just mediocre, from the appetizers to the entrees to dessert! The waiters were not attentive nor friendly and the place wasn't even packed! We have been to a few "top of the line" steakhouses around... more
