The facade of white, zigzagged windowpanes reflects the zigzag configuration of tables and lop-sided decor inside. It`s almost like an upscale diner, but with far more varied food: Chesapeake Bay crabcakes, potato pancakes with tobiko caviar and crème fraîche, grilled chicken with lime and coriander, grilled salmon with citrus fruit and beet vinaigrette, as well as sandwiches and burgers.... more

Alarm bells may sound as you scan the menu: What’s that strip of Chinese dishes doing next to New American mainstays? Surely one cuisine has to suffer at the expense of the other, right? Wrong. You can confidently start your meal with crisp potato pancakes topped with tuna sashimi or smoked salmon, then proceed to a wholly creditable rendition of ma po tofu, here a fiery Szechuan stew of tofu,... more

The best meal of the day in this pleasant, airy restaurant is breakfast. The OJ shake is an eye-opener and you can... more

The NoHo star is an institution in the Neighborhood. While their fusion approach to Chinese and American cuisine is not as novel as it once was, their execution is tried and true. Make sure not to miss their delicious home made Ginger Ale!

Perhaps, it is its location, and my partner and I always happen to find parking around this place. After shopping, before or after a movie, and the urge to use the bathroom, this place stands on the... more

We had terrific burgers last night.....but despite their steep price, they didn't come with fries.....that's quite unheard of, even in NYC . . . . .a tasty small side salad filled the void on the plate......we ordered the fries ala carte and they were -- fortunately -- worth the price......the hostess was delightful, the waitron unfocused and distracted but at least pleasant when we could get... more

Whenever we come to New York we end up here for breakfast. Their food is not only good, but also creative. Take for instance their Oatmeal Creme Brulee. It is something out of this world. The service cannot be any better, The staff makes you feel right at home. We definitely recommend it.

Pros

+ Great food and service

Cons

- Sometimes the wait is long
