I have been attending Newport Hills Community Church since April of 2003. From the moment I stepped in the doors I knew I belonged. This is a place where the Spirit of God resides, and it shows. There is unconditional love for everyone, no matter what path one takes to get there. This is a Church that practices the love and care of Jesus. We are committed to tell people about Jesus, inviting them to believe in Him, and helping believers to serve and glorify God, and are very active in our community, serving througj a number of outreach ministries. Dont just take my word for it though, come see for yourselves!
For someone who claims to love God and love people, Paul Burnham Sr. has some real issues to deal with. First one would be the Level 1 Sex Offender (and sex addict) Nicholas Alexander Short and his enabling father John Michael Short. Yes, God forgives sex offenders, don't get me wrong, but your putting your congregation at risk. He was an assistant coach on Issaquah High's track team and he slept with a 17 year old student. Now they may say (and many others) that that stuff happens and it isn't a big deal. Well it is. He was in a leadership position and lure the girl into his web of lies. If we ignore such things it just feeds a predator's will to do more next time. Not to mention, word on the street is, before he finally got caught, his ex-girlfriend said he would "watch movies" alone with underage girls. So it's just a word of warning for anyone who is thinking of going their. Just check the Issaquah Press to verify my story.
I can only describe this church as family. They are the only family I have ever had. Pastor Paul and Leona work tirelessly for the kingdom of God. They put their sweat blood and tears in to the people there. When I was attending I was there almost every time the doors were open it is home. The people there helped me become who I am today whether they knew it or not. The worship team is amazing and so are the people in it. This church is an asset to the Newport Hills Community and they deserve so much credit for the work they do. I am blessed to have even had the chance to know the people who go there. I often think back and miss the church and the people that were my entire world. I will never find a place like that again. It is more then a building or a church it is truly a community. Lovely small community church located in Newcastle. The members are friendly, diverse, community servants. The members clearly invite and accept...
I have been a member for 7 yrs now. I was a newly divorced mother of 3 and now through Gods Grace (and Pastor Pauls counseling)a married mother of 4. Paul and Leona Burnham have helped my daughters and I get through times that were unimaginable as well as shared in the times that were nothing short of a blessing. God has worked through the Burnhams in all of us that attend NHCC. They accept us for who we are and help us to become better than when we came. The doors are open for a warm meal every Wed. night. Leona prepares 99% of the meals herself with very little help. They have a...
