This school is really fantastic. My son has taken some classes here, and we told him we'd by him a Fender Strat if he learns how to play....we just gave it to him. NYC Guitar School taught him chords, some scales, and more importantly, gave him tons of confidence, outside of being a great guitar player. His grades got better in school and he's in the jazz band. We're so thankful! Thank you... more

I've taken 4 classes here, each about 6 months apart and I really have nothing but praise for this place... Atmosphere is welcoming and encouraging. Teachers are patient and friendly. Classes are small - usually five people or less - and most of the students are professional adults who come to the classes after work. Other pros: a great makeup lesson policy, and an unbeatable price tag. But... more

How to learn to play the guitar in 6 easy steps cassette tapes are for suckers and too expensive and they never work. Instead come the the New York Guitar School on Mondays when they offer free guitar classes to beginners. Check the website or Time Out New York for the times.
