At Myers+Chang, we are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.
Myers + Chang is a cheerfully slick, inexpensive Pan-Asian diner --- in short, just what the South End needed. The hotspot offers kicky yet comfortable home cooking with dumplings, hot and cold noodles, and the ever-changing but always tasty fried rice. We like the crispy spring rolls; sweet and spicy chicken wings made with orange peel, sesame and purple chilies; the braised pork belly buns...
Power couple Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers were bound to give partnership a go. Enter Myers + Chang, a cheerfully slick, surprisingly cheap Pan-Asian diner---in short, just what the South End ordered. We like the verve of the hot-spot… Read More
"Creative", "beautifully prepared" small plates fuse the "essence of home-cooked Chinese" with "unique" Southeast Asian "flair" at Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers' "funky" South End "go-to"; the "cozy diner"-like digs are usually "hopping", but "slick" customer service keeps things moving, and if family-style eating means rates can "really add up", you also get to "sample a lot", so "bring...
Pink and orange dragon decals cover the windows of this all-day Chinese café, where Joanne Chang (of Flour fame) has returned to her familial cooking roots. Sharable platters of dumplings, wok-charred udon noodles, and stir-fries brim with fresh ingredients and addictive flavors from China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The staff is young and hip, and the crowd generally follows suit.
Like any enfant terrible, chef Joanna Chang had her dessert first: At bakery and café Flour, she seduced Boston with sticky buns and homemade "Oreos." Her follow-up is this kitschy Asian diner she opened with husband Christopher Myers (they met when both worked at Rialto). Unlike the conventional restaurants of Chinatown, Myers + Chang is pure rock 'n' roll, from its location in the perennially...
Food was unbelievable. Amazing creative flavor profiles and texture combinations. Some of the best food I've ever had. Period. Server was super friendly and knowledgable as well.
If we ever come to Boston again, we'll come back to Myers and Chang!!! The beef and broccoli dumplings were the best dumplings I've ever had. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and Brussels sprouts crispy on the outside and tender on the inside seasoned w just the right amount of heat balanced w a sweetness. Yummy!!!
This was my second trip to Myers + Chang. My first trip was phenomenal -- the food was pricy but delicious. The flavors were unique and the dishes were exciting. This time we got the Monday "date night" deal to celebrate Valentine's day a bit early. Although this made the price really reasonable ($45 for two), the food was boring - it was very salty, oily, and uninteresting. I was pretty...
Incredible food. Great service (made a reservation for 2 at the counter, as table reservations were unavailable, but we ended up being seated at a table!)
We enjoyed very aspect, from meeting the bartender, Nicole, who was wonderful, to our waiter to everything. Delicious and fun, can't want to go back. It is a little noisy - try to get a table by the window if you can.
A New Jersey native (insert fist pump here) Karen graduated from UMass Amherst and moved to Boston. For years, she studied the art of hospitality as she bartended and managed restaurants. Drawn to the heat, pressure and hustle of the kitchen she enrolled at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. After a stint at Ten Tables in her JP neighborhood, she went on to spend the next few years studying...
The mirrored walls at Myers + Chang are decorated in handwritten slogans that sound like a fortune cookie on acid; the hot-pink outline of a dragon unfurls across the windows. This dim sum diner, the brainchild of restaurateurs Christopher Myers and Joanne Chang, serves up chopsocky style with a big wink. On the menu are addictive Asian small plates of dumplings, sticky tea-smoked spare ribs,...
