En route to the center of the Grove, docked along Sailboat Bay and the marina, lies this revamped hotel best known as the hangout for the Miami Vice set -- drug kingpins, undercover cops, and other shady characters -- during the mid-'80s. We were surprised by the level of service provided by the staff. The room was spacious and very clean. Everything we needed for a sucessful business trip to Miami. I would return again to the mutiny.
The furniture was somewhat outdated but the sleeper sofa cushions were worn, dirty, and stained. I called to complain and someone who I couldn't communicate came up to make the bed. This was not the solution I was looking for. We were on the 3rd floor above the pool so the pool music starting playing around 6 am keeping me up. Not good. Plus my safe didn't work. We loved the location of the hotel. We could walk to all of the activities in Coconut Grove. We also liked that our family of six could all stay together instead of being split up into separate rooms. The view from our balconies was wonderful.
