Common grounds was a great coffee shop. Murky stinks. Don't drink the juices from the cooler, they are probably expired

One of the best community cafes in the DC area. It's built up a reputation over the years and the change of ownership did not affect its function--perfect hang out to study, organize a reunion, enjoy a sip... Very good cakes. Love the apple pie. Laid back service, home-like.

I was one of their first customers, accidently showing up for lunch on opening day. The food was much better then, but they obviously had no restaurant experience at the time and had to retool their menu to avoid spoilage. Now it consists of simple sandwiches and desserts.
