This mechanic had my car since February and we've paid over $1100 between March and August and it still doesn't run. When we went to pick it up he said we owed another $100 and refused to let us take it. We called the cops and he told the police he's legally allowed to charge up to 10% more of what we already paid. We paid $950 in June for a brand new ECM! He tried to pull a bait and switch! They tried to send my broken ECM out to have it refurbished, when that didn't work that's when they purchased the new ECM and tried to make us pay the difference when we already paid for a brand new ECM in June!!! Michael Fall the owner threatened my husband and kicked him off of his property because my husband asked for an itemized receipt with our signatures on it, but the owner refused to give him any paperwork stating any of the repairs that he's done, no warranty information for the brand new ECM and he claims he sent my old ECM to the manufacturer for a core fee or we would have to have paid another $300!! He even refused to give any paperwork to the police officer and was completely non compliant and argumentative. He lied to the officer and said he gave an itemized receipt to my father, then he told my father he gave an itemized receipt to my husband. The officer was a witness that he didn't give my husband a receipt showing any of the work he claims to have done. Or that he even purchased a new ECM. When I went back the next day to pay the $100 he claimed we owed, he raised the price to $160 claiming tax!!! Mind you he told the police officer the day prior that he was only allowed to charge 10% of the $940.86 which is only $94.08 and with 6% tax its $99.72. I wanted to get my car before he did any more damage to it, but he refused payment and still refused to give me my car so I called the police again. The cops said he's not allowed to refuse payment and keep my car so he said he'd only take cash. I paid and got my car back. But I still wanted an itemized receipt and the police officer made him give me one. Its all made up prices and part #'s anyway bc the part he has listed for the ECM isn't even in the Bosche parts catalog. And the prices he has listed are higher than what we agreed upon! Its been such a nightmare. Don't go to him!! Go to someone else!! (Edited August 04, 2016)
Where to begin. I came to this shop on the heels of a wholly frustrating experience with a transmission shop. My experience with Muffler and Brake King was a little ray of sunshine in an industry that routinely disappoints. There is a mentality amongst a lot of automotive service providers that you are on their time. Muffler and Brake King breaks that trend. From the friendliness at the front desk, to the technicians, the timeliness of the work as well of the cost, I will bring my car to them, despite it being a bit longer of a trip for any work they will do. If you can get your car to this shop, it is the place to go.
They have great customer service and they stand behind their work. They explained everything in a way that I could understand. I will only trust my car with them.
These people are so helpful the lobby is comfortable and the best they do great work at cheap prices. I will only trust them with my car from now on.
