Moss Beach Distillery

Great View and Lots of Character

Review Rating
The Moss Beach Distillery has great food, drinks and even a ghost (from its Prohibition days as a speakeasy.) The view of the ocean is fantastic and the food is pretty tasty. Definitely make reservations if you are coming with a group.

What a View and Food Too.

This place is a great find. It's tucked away and a bit off the beaten path, but certainly worth the effort.

I recommend you get there early for dinner or make a reservation and request a table near the window. If you time it right you will get a pretty fantastic sunset.

The specials can be very good and I usually stick to the sea food when I eat there. They have a way of collecting email addresses (it might be on the check, I don't exactly remember) but if you get on the mailing list they send you specials and other goodies.

After dinner, get a beverage or cocktail of your choice and go downstairs to the back patio and listen to the ocean. They have blankets if it gets really cold, but it's a great way to end a great night out.

What began as a roadhouse with a less than savory reputation has become a local upscale favorite while retaining a bygone flavor with its vintage decor. What will appear is great food served up by a friendly staff that knows both the daily... more

Story has it that this Prohibition-era restaurant still harbors the ghost of a 1930s adulteress, who appears from time to time. In its modern incarnation, the upstairs restaurant is candlelighted and has a good surf-and-turf menu. Things are more casual (and less expensive) at the self-service lunch spot and bar on the deck downstairs. On chilly afternoons couples can cuddle under heavy woolen... more

The restaurant, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, has all of the atmosphere you would want and more in a seaside eatery. The food was delicious and well prepared with polite and attentive service.

The Moss Beach Distillery is a great place to have a nice lunch or dinner overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. They have plenty of regular tables in several small dining rooms. The food is mostly seafood, which makes sense with the location. All the food we have had here has been delicious. If you don't have the time for a sit-down meal, you can go downstairs where you can order fast... more

You're not afraid of a female ghost are you? Well...I hear she's friendly. I haven't seen her myself, but they say she's there. (Well...I did see her in the bathroom mirror, but that's expected.)You've got to try this place. You can sit outside while you wait for your table. Enjoy a drink on the balcony in a chair covered in a blanket they provide. It's a wonderful experience.Reservations are... more
