Twenty-six years ago, a steakhouse opened in the basement of a high-rise on Chicago's Near North Side. This steakhouse took the name of its founder, Arnie Morton. Morton, along with current Morton's vice chairman Klaus Fritsch, really upped the ante on the entire steakhouse game, and the chips have been clacking ever since.

Morton's is one of my favorite places to eat. The wait staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and my steak was incredible. I don't remember the name of the dessert that I had, but it had some of the freshest strawberries I've ever tasted.
The staff was great from the minute we walked in the door. The waitress was great and took the time to talk with us eventhough it was New Year's Eve and they were packed. As for the food - the steaks were good, but the mashed potatoes are to die for. If you love crab cakes they are a must have - lots of crab and seasoned to perfection. We had a great experience here while visiting Chicago from Detroit. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly. Our two kids, 7 and 10, were well looked after. Although they say they don't have a kids menu, they can prepare kid friendly food like chicken cutlets.
Our steaks were excellent and perfectly prepared. Many steak restaurants will over cook a medium rare steak, but not...
