Two couples joined by marriage—plus a restless mother-in-law who can’t stay out of the kitchen—give this comfy Pan-Asian canteen a conspicuous family feel. With its retro-diner décor, off-the-beaten-track address, and mostly $4–$8.25 price range, it’s a Soho anomaly where everything is made with care and served with a welcoming smile. It’s also a wellspring of savory sandwiches, salads, and... more

The Asian comfort food works: There is a touch of attentive flair to everything, even the rich earthy flavor of the Chinese-sausage sticky rice. A terrific Thai-style steak salad is fiery with jalapenos and garlic, while a massive dose of lime juice and fresh herbs cools it down. The jicama spring rolls are refreshing, and the three wonton soups deeply satisfying; there's a sizeable sandwich of... more

The Scene Right by the approach to the Holland Tunnel, a red awning invites passers-by into this sweet, low-frills spot. It has a diner feel, with industrial flooring and yellow tables. Warmly welcoming service makes it comfortable, though the gloomy lighting leaves room for improvement. The young clientele is drawn from neighboring Soho and Chinatown. The Food The... more

Innovative, healthy, mouth-watering, sanely-portioned entrees for $8.80. In Soho. WTF, we know! But it is tiny, so please don't tell anyone you aren't planning to smother later. Get the surprisingly spicy octopus and spinach noodles, or Thursday's $18 special New Zealand lobster tails. Actually, at these prices, get the whole damn menu. Family-run vibe in cute, retro diner space. Feel good... more

The food was awesome! The steak plate with cilantro sauce was exceptionally delicious and it costs less than $10. The sandwiches were great too. And all the plates were huge, which prevented me from trying the soups and salads...this place was much smaller than I expected, yet cozy and we were able to stay as long as we wished.

This place is kind of small, but it is cozy. I do not recommend large groups though. This is a great place for lunch, but there might be a little wait cause they tend to get kind of busy. It is cash only; but don't worry, the plates are pretty huge and the prices cheap. It is not the best vietnamese/asian fusion place, but it is decent.
