Operations may be disrupted due to COVID-19. Be sure to contact the restaurant to find out its current status and offerings.THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Monsoon Cafe Restaurant Review

This is Bali on the Third Street Promenade, with exotic masks on the bamboo walls, semi-private booths and lots of beach shack bar action. The extensive pan-Asian menu ranges from chicken pot stickers, Vietnamese spring rolls and Indian samosas for starters (plus sushi and sashimi, and items like “won ton tuna decker”), while entrées include Burmese beef curry, teriyaki salmon and kung pao...

A Pan-Asian mix of bamboo, balconies and Burmese beef.

In Short
Monsoon has cornered the L.A. market on bamboo, featuring a main room evocative of a Shanghai courtyard, complete with a tabled balcony. The upstairs lounge, through a red-velvet...

1212 Santa Monica is in great location on 3rd street promenade with a lot of activities in area, and also their decor was very beautiful. It was empty for Saturday night kind of strange.

I asked...

Literally the best. Bar none, on all levels - service, food, ambiance.. everything. Preface, we came with a large party of 17 and our server did everything in her power, and beyond, to ensure a...

Amazing Asian-fusion food. Moderately priced and the portions are large. Definitely avoid the sushi here, it is just okay. Noodle and rice dishes are fantastic.

The food here is what I would call asian-fusion. Their noodle dishes and curries are absolutely delicious, but their sushi is just okay. We like to go here on date night, but it is also a great spot for lunch or happy hour!

One of my Favorite Westside Restaurants

Average Rating

Monsoon is one of my favorite places to eat on the Westside. Whether you are in the mood for sushi or asian fusion or thai, they have it all. It's good, fresh food and satisfies most appetites.

The large dining room has a great ambiance with rich woods and asian style chandeliers. The booths have great privacy, but a table out in the center can be a little loud and exposed.

Pros

+ good food, amazing dessert, nice ambiance

Cons

- large dining room, sometimes loud
