Put dietary precautions aside when you enter this cozy Eastern European restaurant loaded with Old World charm and lots of calories. Expect to start with homemade bread, cheese and an apple, served to every table, lunch and dinner. Don't fill up, though, because there's much more rich, hearty fare to come. My husband and I have eaten at the Monastery on a number of special occasions, and have found the food and service uniformly excellent. Since my husband is European, he verifies the authentic quality of the food. The wine list is good. (try the Bull's Blood!)
We will continue to eat at the Monastery. Although a bit pricey, it is well worth it!
