Soba in a Hurry--If you can find parking

Review Rating
Mishima is a great restaurant. The food is fresh, affordable and tasty. Primarily, there is a selection of cold and hot soba and udon. However, I always go for the appetizers, which tend to be pickled vegetables and roots. My favorite food is the taro root. Mishima has good desserts too. The only problem is that Mishima is in a strip mall on 3rd. street, which is a trendy dining area known to have space-poaching valets. If you are lucky enough to snag some parking, Mishima is a great lunch spot.

This Japanese noodle house is a super-casual, super-inexpensive and super-delicious option on pricey Third St. The restaurant fills up for dinner on weekends so try to arrive earlythey dont take reservations.

The soba (thin buckwheat noodles) and udon (thick flour noodles) at this Japanese restaurant, tucked in a minimall near the Beverly Center, have garnered raves from noodle aficionados for years. Very traditional dishes like sansai (mountain vegetable) noodles and donburi (fried pork cutlet served on rice with egg) draw visiting and local Japanese diners to this minimalist space. Do not come... more

Hip to the noodle trend, this Japanese spot prepares them to order and makes it a bargain.

In Short Noodle slurping is perfectly acceptable inside this sleek, modern dining room. Entrees like swordfish and salmon pair up with traditional Japanese sides--boiled spinach, sweet-potato puree, sweet marinated seaweed and sesame green beans. Make a meal of the noodle dishes, offered hot, cold, thick, thin and curried. Nabeyaki udon's fish broth overflows with spinach, shiitake... more

My experience was way different from most of the rest. The food was ok, however, you can get japanese food, yes, even noodles, at other places that in my estimation are better and at competitive prices. I did like the fact that they had a kid's menu, however, their treatment of my child was not to my liking in the least.

I have a 17 month old who has hearing problems, and as a result, he... more

A go-to place for cheap, tasty noodles and Japanese food besides sushi.

Mishima is a good place to go if you're in the mood for a healthy salad, some cold soba noodles, a big bowl of udon, tempura, or a nice hot cup of green tea. There are heavier items on the menu as well as bento boxes, but you can make it light if you look. I generally go on my own and take a good book for a quick bite in a nice environment. It's a good place if you're looking for cheap,... more

Mishima has great food with reasonable prices. My favorite dish there is the tofu salad. They use their own salad dressing (I think it was Miso dressing) and it tastes awesome. If you are a vegetarian, this is great to order. They also have a lot of combos so, you can get noodles with rolls, or rice entree with noodles. The combos are smaller than ordering the dishes individually, but they... more
