Soba in a Hurry--If you can find parking

Review Rating
Mishima is a great restaurant. The food is fresh, affordable and tasty. Primarily, there is a selection of cold and hot soba and udon. However, I always go for the appetizers, which tend to be pickled vegetables and roots. My favorite food is the taro root. Mishima has good desserts too. The only problem is that Mishima is in a strip mall on 3rd. street, which is a trendy dining area known to have space-poaching valets. If you are lucky enough to snag some parking, Mishima is a great lunch spot.

Mishima is a place that focuses on preparing Japanese dishes. Expect the average entrée to cost $8 to $12, and dress casual.

Make a meal of the noodle dishes, offered hot, cold, thick, thin and curried. Nabeyaki udon's fish broth overflows with spinach, shiitake mushrooms ... more

"Pickled herring and gefilte fish are brain food. That's why you're so smart, bubbele. Now come here and rub your bubby's feet -- I have to ask twice?" When you were a growing boy, amidst matzoh ball soup and kasha varnishkes, Grandma was sure to feed her sweet grandson lots of fish. Now that you're all grown up, you mention this tidbit from your past to your Japanese girlfriend (because, let's face ... more
