I stayed in the grandious Millenium Hotel in Durham, NC. Wish I hadn't. Upon entering you see the normal amazing granite check-in counter and large foyer you would expect from a luxurious hotel. You see a beautiful staircase to the right and beyond that is a well manicured coctail/bar area. This attractive large complex is used for visiting profs and parents, and features older rooms in several large buildings with a courtyard feeling. It offers everything you can get at the chains and strives for a European look and flair. Can be booked online. Adequate parking - map needed to find it. All regular services offered and staff is courteous.
