10 months ago I went to Medic Pharmacy to look at walkers after finding their listing on Google. They had a nice Tuffcare model that I purchased from Leon. When I asked him to adjust the handle height for me he said he did not make adjustments. I thought that was kind of strange as every walker I had purchased at other stores in the past had always been adjusted as part of the purchase process.
This morning when I was stepping into the garage I felt the right handle of my walker start to give way. I looked down and sure enough the pot metal shaft had started to tear. I looked up Tuffcare on the Internet and called their 800 number to find out about the process to get the walker replaced under warranty since it was well within the coverage period. I was told to take the walker into the dealer where I had purchased it and they would handle the replacement. When I took the walker into Leon today and showed him the problem he started to show me the models I had to choose from and their prices. I reminded Leon that I had purchased the walker 10 months ago and thus would like it replaced under warranty. He said he wasn't going to do that since I was the one who broke the walker. He became very excited and refused to replace the walker. He wrote down the number for Tuffcare and gave it to me so I could call them to see about getting the walker replaced. I told him I had already done that and they had told me to bring the walker into the dealer for replacement. He got even more excited and again refused to replace the walker or even call Tuffcare to discuss the matter. I called Tuffcare on my cell in front of Leon and asked again how to handle a warranty replacement. Tuffcare said to take the walker to the dealer. I explained that I was there and he did not want to handle the warranty replacement. I then gave my phone to Leon so he could discuss the situation with Tuffcare. As I sat there his excitement escalated with the person on the phone into a shouting match so loud, intense, and intimidating I cowered on the seat of my broken walker. After this went on for what seemed an eternity Leon handed the phone back to me, I put the phone up to my ear and found I was on hold. The Tuffcare rep came back on the line as was surprised I was there instead of Leon. She gave me their address and explained that I was Leon's responsibility as the dealer to handle the replacement but that I may want to bring the walker there myself rather than deal with Leon. I said thank you and hung up the phone. I again asked Leon to replace the walker with the one right next to me on his floor and he refused. I asked to speak to the owner and was informed he was traveling. I asked to speak to the person in charge and Leon said that he was in charge. After some more discussion Leon said let me call someone else. He called the Tuffcare salesman and began to complain about how he had been mistreated by the Tuffcare rep. He discussed the replacement with Bob and then hung up saying Bob was going to talk to someone else at Tuffcare about it and would call back. So I sat, and Leon sat. After another unpleasant eternity Leon said, "This is a waste of my time!" He got up and came around the desk and told me to go ahead and take the floor model and he would take care of getting the defective walker replaced.
Finally after 30 minutes of being subjected to the rantings and ravings of the most unpleasant sales person on the planet Leon did what he should have done when I first walked into the store.
Needless to say I will never set foot in the Medic Pharmacy again!
Horrible way to run a business. Had to call back a couple of times and they never knew what was going on. Finally came in to find out my prescription had been ready for weeks. Don't go here!
they put the wrong medicine in the labeled blister pack of all three blister packs and they typed the wrong doctor's names on the prescriptions
