Mecu is more like a regular bank. They take forever to get a member on the phone and Im trying to figure out what makes them different from other credit unions? Mecu is strictly credit driven

Have been waiting on a mortgage commitment letter since we applied for a loan on November 12. We have submitted ALL documentation within hours, if not MINUTES of receiving a request for them. Whenever we ask MECU's mortgage middleman, Financial Security Consultants, what's holding the process up, we are never given any answers. Neither are we given direct contact information for MECU. This is a good credit union. I love their mobile banking. I am able to do most things without going into the branch.
