By now, hopefully your plans have been sewn up for this year's Thanksgiving meal (and if not, better get on that) — but as an appetizer to this Thursday's gorge-fest, several spots are getting in the spirit early this week. From a food cart's traditional turkey sandwich to turducken ramen to special stuffing-flavored bagels, here's a guide to some Thanksgiving-inspired specials available around...

Behold Portland's 11 Most Iconic Sandwiches

What makes a sandwich inherently "Portland"? Unlike Philadelphia's cheesesteak, New England's lobster roll, or New Orleans' po'boy (just to name a few), our fair city lacks a specifically "regional" take on the between-bread meal. So to name a list of Portland's Most Iconic Sandwiches, we looked to the spots that have proven particularly influential to the local food scene, the carts that have...

Xocolatl de David Wraps Up Golden Ticket to PDX Porkfest

Portland chocolatier David Briggs seems to have pork on the brain: Not only does the website of his confection company Xocolatl de David have an entire section devoted to the marriage of chocolate and bacon, but his Chicharrón bar — which encases fried pork skins in chocolate — is a glutton's dream. To celebrate the upcoming Cochon 555 pork fest, Briggs is co-opting a classic pop culture...

I wanted the Green Bean sandwich. But the menu!!! It’s crazy! The options of goodness roll off the board making you feel like you should order 2 sandwiches each.

We read about the Maple in the NY Times just a couple of weeks before delivering our son to Portland for college and had to try it. Two slices of bread pudding -- substantial bread pudding in a loaf, but, yes, bread pudding -- grilled with a house made and seasoned sausage patty, peppered cheddar, and fresh fennel. Awesome. I...

Great sandwich shop - thankfully I don't live in Portland, or else I'd live in this place and weigh 1,000 pounds.

Went in the morning and got the breakfeast burrito. Was disappointed it wasent very tasty. Went back to try the green bean sandwich. Although it took almost 20 min while they didn't seem very busy it was Very good. Almost like and egg salad sandwich with green beans. The female working in the afternoon was very friendly.
