Best Doctor I've ever been to

I was a patient of Dr. Mays' and I cannot say enough about or thank him enough. I had been to 2 other pain doctors in Memphis, and didn't get any better. All they did was prescribe potent painkillers. Dr. Mays' however, spent more time with me than any doctor I have ever been to, to get to the bottom of my problem and find a solution. While he did prescribe medicine he also performed a series of nerve blocks, and got me into physical therapy. I had had nerve blocks before but they didn't relieve my pain. But the blocks I got from Dr. Mays over time greatly improved my pain and my function. On top of his brilliance--he was able to help me when two other pain doctors was to didn't--he is the most genuine caring person, I think I've ever met. You could tell that he really cared about your pain and subsequent problems, and understood them. He was never patronizing, and was always willing to go over and explain things even if it was for the 3rd or 4th time. If only all doctors were like him.

Dr. Schnapp looked at me and he knew right away what I needed. He is like a health coach with great diagnostic skills. Dr. Schnapp gave me back a life worth living. It is true what they say. "If you have your health then you have everything."

I had seen 4 other pain doctors and had gotten no relief before a friend recommended I go to Mays & Schnapp. My case was what had been called a "problem case" as I had many problems, and debilitating chronic pain from a car wreck. I went to this clinic because I have bulging disc in my neck and it has been causing me pain for several months now. I don't need surgery at this point, so pretty much just have to live with the pain for now. The doctor of course scheduled me 3 nerve blocks to see if that will help. He also gave me an anitdepressant to help me rest. After a couple of weeks the medicine started keeping me awake.... more
