I was very happy when I first got to Matera's to learn that they carry some good compost. That was completely overshadowed by the fact that they sold me soil with fertilizers and water gel in it and insisted that it was organic. I specifically questioned it when they brought it over and they assured me it's all organic. They are dishonest and do not care about your actual needs, just another sale.

I've often purchased at Matera's - from garden furniture, barbecue equipment to various plants. They have always been friendly, attentive and extremely helpful.

Pros

+ Owners are knowledgeable, reasonable prices

Cons

- Exiting the parking lot right onto Route 1/9 traffic

i recently went to matera's nursery and the staff was completely clueless and seemed as if I was an inconvenience to them for needing help, and when they did finally speak to me, he was EXTREMELY rude and no help whatsoever

I would have given them 0 Stars if the rating would allow me
