Absolute best steakhouse

I thought that Ruth Chris was the ruler of the steakhouse but I was wrong. I've been to Mastro's here and in Beverly Hills and it was probably the best meal in my life. The steak and the specialty dishes were fantastic. The service was awesome although the ambient light is pretty dark. pretty pricey but worth it if you want the best

Mastro's Steakhouse Restaurant Review

Located across the street from South Coast Plaza and among the performing arts district's many upscale restaurants, Mastro's shines as one of the OC's best classic cosmopolitan steakhouse experiences. Even though this is a modern place, the main dining room exudes an old-world warmth. In contrast, the dark lounge area is all Vegas, with its wraparound neon mural, low lighting and crowded...

It's "power scene" central at these "flashy" chophouses attracting a "glamorous" crowd with "spectacular beef", "decadent seafood platters", "large martinis" and a "sinful" warm butter cake for dessert; "plush doesn't begin to describe" the "supper club" setting (with a piano player and a "big bar scene") tended by an "attentive", "well-versed" staff, so "if you've got the big bucks", you're in...

Mastro’s Steakhouse is a nice fit for Costa Mesa’s South Coast Metro district, which includes both South Coast Plaza and the Orange County Performing Arts Center. There’s definitely an old-world warmth in the main dining salon, but the dark lounge area is all Vegas with its wrap-around neon mural, low lighting and crowded tables. The menu almost replicates the steak and seafood offerings...

Cosmopolitan clientele and high-end cuts give this Costa Mesa spot a modern dose of Rat-Pack ritzy.

In Short
Akin to an opulent cavern, this lit space is lined with walls of towering onyx wine bottles and dramatic fabrics. Couture-clad patrons linger over cocktails and live jazz in the...

Valet Daniel met us, big smile, promised to park the car up front. Stepped inside the dark restaurant and were met by smiling hostesses. Respected our reservation time. Nice quiet table. (Patio tables are available, but too warm outside for this dinner.)

It is a fantastic location, elegant ambiance, and excellent food. We were having a business dinner and able to have a great discussion with very attentive staff. The great aspect of their service is they were not overbearing but not delayed either.

I have been going to Mastros for all celebrations in our family. This visit was low key. My Son-in-law Phillip and Daughter Nisha Merchant are pregnant. We wanted to cool it and not go crazy with wine etc. No change in service. Every single staff...

SO, this high end steak house is always a treat for fine dining... service is spot on and perfect, it's a beautiful restaurant, and as it was our anniversary, everyone acknowledged it, and we were so overwhelmed that they waived the corkage fee ($35), that...

In August 2005, the Mastro family of Scottsdale created buzz with its ritzy seafood restaurant, Mastro's Ocean Club, at Crystal Cove Promenade. In February 2006, the owners followed up with a modern, two-story steakhouse with dark, gleaming interiors next to Chat Noir. Visitors are greeted with a 25-foot wine tower holding up to 18,000 bottles of wine. (Jit Fong Chin)

Mastro's Steakhouse in Costa Mesa is part of the Mastro's Steakhouse chain. This super trendy restaurant attracts a glamorous crowd for its scrumptious steaks, delicious seafood platters, fine drinks and decadent desserts. The restaurant is styled like a supper club with a piano bar offering live entertainment and dancing nightly. Yes, it is very pricey, but then you also get great service,...

What to Drink: Flavored martinis reign at the bar, where sultry concoctions like "flirtinis" consist of vodka, pineapple juice, cointreau and champagne, and are served up with a smoldering cube of dry ice.
