The Martin Luther King Recreation Center in San Diego was built in 1986 on available open space. Today the center caters to the recreation needs of the entire community with its indoor basketball and racquetball courts, soccer field, baseball field, picnic areas and lots more. The center organizes events like Spring Egg hunts and community celebrations like New Years and the like.
